Mason Artist
Exhibits at Louisville Gallery
Glass Works Gallery of
Louisville, Kentucky is pleased to
announce that Denny Means was a
recent exhibitor in the March show
“Serving the U.S.” - the Master
Kiln Builders Invitational Exhibit,
curated by Donovan Palmquist. Mr.
Means’ ceramic whiskey bottle was
selected for the show along with
work from such nationally known
ceramic artists as Don Reitz, Peter
Callas, Jack Troy, Ann Christenson,
and others. The exhibit was one of
the National Ceramic Arts Educator’s
Convention (NCECA) related exhibits
in Louisville.
Mr. Means stated, “I was
gratified for my work to be shown
beside such great artists.” Photos
of the bottle show a jaunty
personality and a mixture of tawny
color with abundant sodium
accumulation from the soda kiln,
where it was fired to 2400 degrees.
Mr. Means is an award-winning
sculptor and ceramic artist, with
work shown in the prestigious Ohio
Landscape Competition. His work is
available at Leapin’ Lizards
Gallery, Maple Creek Artisan Center,
and other fine galleries through the
region, as well as the Pendleton Art
Center.
