Congratulations to the following Warren County High School seniors who were each awarded a $500 scholarship.  Thanks also to our members for the support that made this program possible.

Melissa Brenner

Springboro High School

 Dance, The Ohio State University

 Comments:

Melissa is a fantastic role model for the younger dancers.  She is an excellent student which will be an asset as she pursues her passion for dance.

Melissa exudes passion on stage and demonstrates a very mature sense of artistry for her young age.  She truly is a dancer from the depths of her soul and I am confident that she will go far in the pursuit of her dream.

Melissa will pursue a Bachelors of Performing Arts in Dance, and may consider graduate school training in order to teach on the college level.

Joshua Gulley

Kings High School

History, Miami University

Comments:

Josh's two passions are music and the study of social sciences, including philosophy, history, and world religion.  Josh is a prolific composer and musician, playing multiple instruments.  He has written a symphony as well as incidental music for theatrical productions and solo piano.

Josh's passion for learning and desire to push himself beyond his comfort zone will be an asset to any university.

Joshua's ultimate career goal is to teach music history at the college level, and after receiving a degree in history, he will study music theory and music history.

Lauren Whitehurst

Kings High School

Architecture, University of Cincinnati DAAP

Comments:

Lauren's artistic notions help her to be a visionary, while her intuition balances the practical side of the idea. Lauren's strong science and mathematical background, her artistic talent, and her intrinsic motivation to learn make her well-rounded student prepared to face the challenges of a rigorous architecture program.

Lauren's career goal is to design affordable housing for those in need.
